STEP has activated an Emergency Response to provide our local military families with critical basic needs to address the impact of inflation.

How You Can Help

Monetary Donations

Help STEP address the immediate needs of our local military and Veteran community impacted by inflation by making a donation to our Emergency Response Fund. Click below to donate!

$75 = 3 EMERGENCY BAGS

$100 = 4 EMERGENCY BAGS

$250 = 10 EMERGENCY BAGS

$5,000 = 700 INDIVIDUALS SERVED

STEP is accepting in-kind donations at the San Diego Headquarters Monday – Friday 10 AM – 12 PM.

  • Lotion

  • Cleaning Supplies

STEP hosts monthly distributions to combat gaps in essential needs and help offset costs.

Is your command directly impacted by inflation? Please email Tracy Owens for information about Individual Command food/diaper distributions on-base and how we can help you help your service members.

Due to current government regulations, this is a limited case-by-case option.

FINANCIAL COUNSELING

As we adjust and respond to these uncertain times, it is important to stay vigilant with your finances to ensure this doesn’t impact your financial health in the long-term. STEP’s social workers, trained in financial counseling are offering FREE, virtual 1-on-1 financial counseling to anyone with a military ID.

EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

STEP’s mission is to promote financial self-sufficiency among our junior active duty and recently discharged Veterans in Southern California. We look forward to helping you in identifying and reaching your financial goals. Based on our assessment, we may provide a grant to stop the loss of a critical basic need.

 

To apply for assistance, please visit teamstepusa.org/efa. After you have submitted an application, your social worker will be in touch within 3 business days about qualifications and eligibility.
